Looking After Your Granite
Everyday Cleanup
Warm water, a drop of dish soap and a soft cloth are all granite needs. Skip vinegar, bleach, ammonia and scouring pads, which wear down the sealer and dull the polish.
The Yearly Seal
Plan on resealing about once a year. Not sure it's time? Drip water on the surface. If it soaks in instead of beading, it's due. We will put the first seal on for you.
Hot Pans & Knives
Granite handles heat well, but trivets and cutting boards protect the sealer and save your knife edges.
Spills to Watch
Cooking oil, red wine and citrus are the usual culprits on granite that's overdue for sealing. Wipe them up before they sit.
Edges & Overhangs
Don't sit or stand on overhangs. If you ever spot a chip or crack, call us before reaching for a repair kit.
